Lovin' It!!

My girl Lexi is walking like a crazy person all over the house and yard. Last night we went and picked up some shoes off of craigslist and she obviously loved them...she carried them around with her for an hour until I put them up. Here she is showing off her cute wobble skills!

Drawing and Dancing

Here is Lexi, hard at work on her drawing. Then we have Lilly in the car on the way back from Dallas. She was dancing to a song on the radio and then started bumping her head against the side of the carseat. She apparently thought that was funny!

See Dad, she just wanted to go home to her puppies! :)

Our Week

The end of this week has been eventful to say the least. I have been getting things back in order after our trip. Eric has been involved in UMHB's Welcome Week (plus getting sick!), and the girls have been walking, crawling, drawing, exploring, testing the limits, etc... It's been fun!!

The girls have had no interest in feeding themselves with utensils up to this point. I give them spoons every once in a while to try and use but they are usually on the floor within minutes. The other day, they ate their peas with one hand while holding and munching on the spoons with the other hand...that's progress!

Once Lexi shoved a handful of peas in her mouth and then followed with the spoon. She munched on both the peas and the spoon and seemed pretty proud of herself. :) Lilly would take a good chew on the spoon and then some peas and go back and forth.

Here are my girls in action...

Then Lexi finally got the hang of holding the pen in her hand so that she could draw on her MagnaDoodle. I only got it for them a couple of days before our trip since they seem to want to draw, but tend to eat the crayons. :)

Here is Lexi drawing her first (of MANY!!!) masterpieces.

So talented...well at least Eric and I think so!!

Someone is proud of herself!!

It sure makes a girl tired, all that drawing!!

I have some other things I've been wanting to get on here lately...so check back for another post later today!!

Circle G Farms

Eric finished his summer semester at school, which meant that we have 11 days to do fun stuff before the fall semester starts. Well my best friend, Amy, and husband James had their little boy in March and I hadn't met him yet. So we planned a road trip up to Oklahoma to spend some time with our friends.

It was a blast! Amy and James also have a little 3 year old named Hannah. It was fun to see the 3 girls interacting...Thanks, Hannah, for sharing all your toys with the twins!! They live on a farm in Oklahoma and I was really excited to see the girls' reaction to the animals. Well, they LOVED the dogs, the goats, the chickens, the kittens, and even the baby goat in the barn...BUT then there were the horses. We have a toy rocking horse here at home that we are all very fond of, so I thought the girls would like the horses the best...not so much!! I didn't think about the size of the horses! :) The girls were instantly scared, especially of Misty (who is a gorgeous, yet, large horse). When Misty sneezed, Lexi jumped so bad that you would think a bomb had gone off. Poor girl!

Plus, I was happy to see that the girls were not totally miserable in the car for that long. We split the trip up with a visit to Nana and Papa Epps house in Dallas. Eric and I enjoyed hanging out with our friends. Lexi talked everyone's ears off while walking all over the place, and Lilly and Gabriel even flirted a little bit! :)

Quick Warning: This is a picture heavy post! ;)

Here is Lexi sleeping on the way to Oklahoma. We split the 5 hour drive in half and let the girls stretch their legs.
Lexi loving the view of the farm from Elmo's lap!

Lilly was a little clingy to Eric and I while there. She is pretty shy around people these days other than us. Here, she was making a silly face at someone. She was cheerful as long as she was touching Eric or her mommy!

Now these horses were more their style!

Lexi lovin' on one of Hannah's horses.

Cutie pie Gabriel...
The baby goat, Selah, who is being bottle fed so her momma can provide milk for the Gattis family!

Lexi was watching the barn kittens.

Amy and her little man!

Hannah was trying to help her Daddy feed Selah...

The sweet horse who terrified my girls. Isn't she pretty? :) Amy got her when we were still in high school. I just love her!

Eric and Lilly checking out the goats.

Hannah showing us the chickens. They were so cool! Did anyone else know that an egg is formed in a chicken's chest before working its way down their bodies to be released? That was really weird to find out. You could actually see the egg-shaped lump in the chicken's chest.

Lexi laughed uncontrollably when I put her head close to the goats. They would sniff her hair and she would just giggle and giggle.

These were some sweet girls!! Look at that cute little face!

I love these two pictures of the twins. The first one is Lexi and the next one is Lilly! More pictures to come...have a great evening!!
