Things about my girls...

My little sweethearts in their Valentines shirts! First is my Lilly and then Lexi!! They are such happy girls, although I was making silly noises to get these gorgeous little grins!

These past 8 months have been amazing and I know that it will only get better! The girls are growing and learning and surpassing all of my expectations. I could not imagine life with only 1 baby and thank God every day for my amazing twins! Here are some things that I love about them and things that they have learned or are now doing at 8 months!!

1) The girls have a special smile reserved for only Eric and I. They also have a special smile for their puppies.

2) They make such silly little noises when they are playing...happy, silly noises.

3) They can squeal so high..I have never heard anything that high pitched before.

4) They love to splash water in their own and each others faces in the bathtub. They are trying to figure out how to kick their legs while sitting up in the tub and not fall over.

5) They often reach their arms up for me when we are sitting on the floor playing. Sometimes they just want to sit in my lap while they play. It is really interesting when they both want to do this, since they will try and push each other away when they are starting to get grumpy.

6) They love their green vegetables. I think they would pick peas or green beans over anything sweet. Although applesauce and prunes were their favorite fruits.

7) During mealtime, they like to suck and lick on their bibs...which makes a royal mess!

8) They like to make noises and have Eric or I pat their mouths...not sure what you call it...it's on one of our youtube videos.

9) They now grunt and make hilarious noises when they are going to the bathroom. They never had to do this when they only had breastmilk.

10) Lexi likes to blow bubbles and make silly squirty noises with her mouth.

11) Lilly likes to pat everything...she pats me on the back when I hold her and then pats her chest a lot. It is almost like she is saying, "I am Lilly!"
12) Lilly's first babbles were "dadadadadadada" and "babababababa". Lexi's first babbles were "dadadadadadadaadaadaa" and lots of unintelligible things. Also, when Lexi really wants something, she looks at me and yells, "Mim!" We assume it's Mom!! :)
13) They can roll across the entire living room in a matter of seconds.
14) They try to crawl every day but aren't quite sure how exactly to go about it.
15) They really like to put everything into their mouths. They will chew on anything except Cheerios. :) We tried cheerios for the first time yesterday and they were both pretty disgusted. Lexi gagged and spit hers out.
16) Lexi pulled herself up Friday and yesterday which is a first for her. On Friday I was sitting on the floor eating dinner and she wanted me to hold her, so she pulled herself up on me, using my shirt.
17) I cannot keep Lexi off her belly at night to save my life. She rolls herself onto her tummy and pulls her legs underneath her to get to sleep. She is sooooo cute with her bootie in the air.
18) Lilly sucks her right thumb just to fall asleep. It is soooo cute! Lexi has sucked her thumb just a couple of times and it is always her left one.
19) They now fight over certain toys...not really fight, just grabbing it back and forth. They always want what the other baby has :)
20) When they are really excited about a food, they will sit up and beg like baby birds with their mouths open.
21) They talk constantly...and loudly...no stopping these girls...get ready Eric!!
22) Lexi's hair began parting more often to the left and Lilly's always parts to the right! It's so cute!
23) Yesterday Lexi almost sat up from a laying down position.
24) They love getting professional photos done...I think its all the attention.
25) They love going shopping with mommy!! Like Great-grandmother, and grandmother, and mother!!
26) They sit up all the time now, only laying down when they want to roll or get tired.
I know there are tons more, but I will have to leave it that for now. I have been writing this post for a couple of days now and can never seem to finish it. I'm sure I will write more things as I think of them!

Quick Taylor Update

I have not been good about updating everyone on Taylor lately. There has been so much going on and new changes every day. Now that things that finally calmed down, here is the update...

She has been in the ICU until today and now she is home!! We are so thankful! Here is what I know for sure...I still don't know all the details.

1) The surgery appears to have been successful. She had to have this major surgery because her hip sockets had been worn away over the years. Her leg muscles did not ever relax and that pulled them into a "W" sitting position. Taylor now has new hip sockets, new ligaments, and new thigh muscles.

2) She will be in a cast from the waist down for at least 6 weeks and then moves into some intense physical therapy that might actually allow her to walk one day...for the first time ever!! This is huge!

So she is out of the hospital, which is AWESOME!! But she still needs lots of prayer to get through all of this other stuff. I cannot imagine being 10 years old and being through all of the things that she has been through. Pray for patience for her since she gets frustrated with the situation...who wouldn't!! Also pray that she will heal and recover without more complications. I will try and keep you all updated occasionally.

I was reminded today of a cute story about my nieces...there are a ton of them, by the way!! One time before Eric and I got married, we took the girls to Sonic for dinner. Little Brianna, who was 5 at the time, asked me if she could have a corn dog with a side of "Taylor Tots". I don't think I ever heard her call them tator tots, now that I think about it. It was just so sweet and I know that it made Taylor feel special too!

Valentines Present...

By now everyone knows how much I love to take pictures and have pictures taken of my girls. Well we went to Portrait Innovations the other day to get the girls some "8 month old/Valentines Day" pictures done. We bought the CD of all the images plus several packages and it was not badly priced. I don't think we will ever go back to Sears for pictures!

I waited a couple of days to make sure the grandparents got their Valentines in the mail before I showed everyone the photos. So here they are...well, a few of them at least! And grandparents, I have some printed already for you! I will just have to get them to you soon! Love you all!

We did not place their hands like that...they did it on their own! Lilly is on the left.

Miss Lexi...
Miss Lilly...

The red background was my original idea. I wanted something red and romantic. The girls seemed to like the flowers! Lilly is once again on the left.

Lexi is in the top image and then Lilly...we got one large picture with these 2 images superimposed on it...it is really cool!

The girls didn't seem to know what to do about the rose petals and they were getting sleepy at this point. No smiles anymore....

Bathtime Fun

After all the birthday celebrations last night, the girls needed a good bath! By the time we got home the girls were getting sleepy and cranky. So we plopped them into the bath to cheer them up and get them all ready for sleepytime! As of last week, they now take baths together, sitting up...they are growing up sooooo fast! I think they had a lot of fun...you guys be the judge!! (Lexi is on the left)

In the larger resolution images of these pictures, you can see all the water that they are splashing everywhere!!

"What!...I'm not touching the ducky!"

Lilly loves to hug her turtle!

The Three Birthday Girls

I just can't believe my little goober heads are 8 months old today! Time keeps flying by! Today also happened to be my 29th birthday, so we just made it a girls day!! AND...tomorrow is Eric's birthday! The above picture is my new favorite of us...Daddy took us out to eat and here we are!
Here are a bunch of pictures that I took of the girls this morning.

Lexi above...Lilly below...
I just could not keep them still for pictures...they rolled all over the place. Lilly is looking at the camera in this one.

"Don't touch me, Lilly!"

My happy little girls!

These last two pictures are from the restaurant tonight. Lilly really liked the table and had to pat it for a few minutes. Then when the food came, they both wanted to grab the plates. Lexi actually grabbed Eric's steak several times and he had to wipe her hand clean. She kept watching him eat and it was so funny that I pulled the camera back out...you can't stage that stuff! :)

Twins Rock!

This picture says it all...
The little hams during our morning snuggle time! Eric and I usually feed them a morning bottle right when they wake up, since they are starving...then we snuggle and play on our bed for a little bit before heading to the highchairs for breakfast! :)

Lilly was so happy after her bottle this morning! Don't you just love baby jammies? They are soooooo cute!

Well Lexi finally discovered the curtains and the back door. I promise I cleaned the glass just the other day...Sneezy wipes his paws and licks all over that door when he wants to come in.

Lilly has noticed herself in mirrors before, but the other day, she sat there for about 10 minutes just flirting with herself in the mirror. I think she really thought she was adorable...what a smart girl!!
