Wake Up!

I realized that I only posted the last blog entry about an hour and a half ago, but this was too cute to pass up...
I finished the entry, had a granola bar, and then it was time to get the girls up. I heard someone talking in there and it was Lilly (Good Morning, Lilly!..see above picture). When I picked her up, I noticed that Lexi was in her new sleep position. I have been flipping her back over in the middle of the night, but she keeps rolling to her belly. A little boy that I used to babysit would sleep like this sometimes and I always thought it was adorable. So Lilly and I ran to get the camera before she woke up. I got the first picture and she woke up. Here is the progression of Lexi waking up:

Playtime Wears Us Out...

Lilly wants to tell everyone a story...

"Mommy had a pen in her hand and had to pick me up. So she held the pen far away so that I couldn't get it and she went to put the pen down. Well I just couldn't have that...I really wanted to see that pen up close. So, I did the only thing my 7 month old brain knew to do. I leaned down close and pulled mommy's hand up so I could see this pen a bit closer. It didn't really work the way I wanted it to though...as you can see, this "pen-thingie" drew on my face. I thought it was really funny, but mommy screamed and said no! But then she laughed and after taking a picture of me to show Daddy, she wiped my lip clean with a baby wipe...I love my mommy!" :)

Yesterday we had a lot of fun again with our toys. Here they are rolling around the floor with them. This is Lexi!
They like the lid to their shape sorter...here Lilly is showing it to me, and then she was playing with it in the next picture!

Then, the girls had been fighting sleep for hours yesterday afternoon. I went into the kitchen for a few minutes to get dinner started and make some bottles. This was what I saw when I walked back into the living room. They had been fussing and Eric wanted to comfort them...he does have the magic touch, doesn't he? :)

Today we are taking the girls to meet a new friend. I have been emailing a lady that responded to an ad I posted on craigslist for a nursing pillow. She was very kind and just wanted to email me and encourage me not to give up nursing them. I wrote back that I was not giving up but just did not like this pillow. Then she told me that she had tons of matching outfits from her twin daughters that are two, and she would rather sell them to someone with twins. The girls are running out of clothes in their "new" size, so we need clothes anyway. Thus, Eric and I are going to go look at and purchase the clothes today...I am SOOOOOO excited to get lots of matching outfits! She sent me some pictures and they are adorable!
Most of you know that I shop consignment stores for baby clothes. I get super nice, name brand stuff for way cheaper than I could afford. However, it is almost impossible to get matching outfits in the consignment stores. So this just makes my day! Plus, it is going to be really nice to know another mother in town with young twin girls!

My Two Pebbles...

Anyone remember watching The Flinstones growing up? Nathan and I watched it and really liked it. So here we have my little squirts wearing their new adorable outfits that Aunt Tyffany got them for Christmas! They are too cute and it got me into the Valentines mood! I decided to put their hair up to match and Voila...the girls reminded us of Pebbles from the Flinstones!! Gotta love that growin' hair!
Lexi looking amused at her sister's hair...little does she know! :)
The three above are Lexi being Lexi...

My sweet little Lilly bug!!
Below, we have Lilly again. About 20 minutes after we finished taking pictures, she fell asleep with her foot in her mouth. I got up quietly and quickly to take a picture and the foot fell out, but here is the shot I got...now, please no complaints...she was safely strapped into her seat! I know my little girls well enough to know what happens when they are not strapped in!

Tomorrow Eric starts school again...keep him in your prayers!! He is nervous...like he has anything to worry about! I am going to miss his constant presence and help...I have been spoiled by being able to call him for help this past month. Now I will be feeding the girls baby food all alone and they do make a mess...we started feeding them food while he was on break, so this is my first time to feed them both alone!! Ahhhh :)

Cute Cousins :)

I just love these pictures. This is Sebastian and Lilly! Sebastian is my cousin Tyffany's son and he is such a cutie!! When we went to visit on Saturday, Lilly was set down beside him on the couch and she just kept leaning until she was laying on him, watching him play his DS. I only got one picture of her watching him play, cause every other time, she would look at the camera.

I finally caught her looking....

New Videos on YouTube...

Bad days...

Well my girls have had a rough couple of days. Yesterday I drove with the girls to Austin to visit and spend some time with my cousins. I was so looking forward to hanging out and helping Tyff get some things done. The babies were just not themselves. Lexi was fussy all day and Lilly was antsy in the evening. Right before we left, Lexi got sick and then finally calmed down and went to sleep. I wish I could read their little minds and make things better. Today, Lexi's cough was back and worse...so now I feel guilty for taking them. Since we arrived home late last night, Eric and I let them sleep as much as they needed to today.
It has been one of those times where I keep wondering if I am doing the right things...funny how you always second guess yourself as a parent. The girls are growing and changing and we are just trying to figure out the right ways to adjust their schedules and still allow them flexibility where needed.
So to make myself feel better tonight and to reassure myself that the girls are doing just fine, I posted a couple of pictures from the other day. I remember a line from a movie that says something to the effect of, "You never see the bad days in a photo album!"
Eric was tickling the girls by blowing raspberries on their little tummies. They were in hysterics!!
