Oh Honey!

Today has been quite an interesting day. The girls got over their colds and went straight into nasal drainage and congestion, which we think and hope is related to the giant molars about to pop out of their gums. So Lexi woke us up at 6 am this morning, crying with a stuffed up nose. I gave her a little benadryl and she stayed up with us in our bed without relief. That was too early for me...

Then after we all took a nap this afternoon, we discovered that our dog Sneezy was sick...and sick enough to warrant an emergency, after-hours clinic visit. Hours later with the credit card swiped, we all made it home with some dinner.

Now Lexi and Lilly are both talking up a storm these days. I feel like every time I say that, they take it to the next level. Lexi likes to copy almost anything we say. The other night at dinner, she popped out with "hibachi" after Eric said it. She also said vegetables the other day.

Her favorite words today have been surprise and Elmo. But when the girls were in the tub tonight, Lexi copied me with this phrase..."Ohhh, Honey!!" Eric and I died laughing. She had the exact same voice and everything. She said it crystal clear and it was the cutest darn thing ever. Then Lilly started saying, "oh, Hon!"

I have been keeping a long list of the words they say every day but am losing track some days. I just can't keep up. I wrote down about 10 new words the other day from Lexi.

This week, they have been brushing Daddy's hair a lot. Eric is a good Daddy! :)

"Oh, my! Lilly is going to brush my hair again?"
"Nah, I think I'll just brush mine!"
Lexi desperately trying to brush Lilly's hair. Well, I hope everyone else had a wonderful Saturday. I am going to bed!! Night!

Tobster

Look who turns 14 today...and yes, that's in human years! My sweet friend came to live with us and be a part of our family when he was 6-8 weeks old and I lived at home as a 15 year old. He was a gift for my mother from her sister. We love him so much and are so thankful for our little guy!

He is now deaf, has age-related bald spots, no teeth, synthetic jaw bones, a tongue that constantly hangs out of his mouth, with a heart murmur. Eric and I agree that he has never been more perfect!

Gorgeous Cold Day

Yesterday was a gorgeous day. It finally felt like fall with the cold wind and the sunshine. It was perfect weather...well, for a girl who likes the colder days. We took all 3 little ones (Annalise was here) outside and let them run around when the crankies started to flare up. My girls get giggly in the cold air. There is something about the cold wind on their cheeks that gets them all excited.

Mommy and Lilly...
Fascinated with the fence...
Lexi - loves watching the wind blow through the trees.
I just love this action shot...nothing but Lilly's face ended up in focus.
Lexi - "Mommy, my hands are getting cold!"
Lilly liked laying down to watch the wind blow through the trees.
Lexi got mad about her bulky coat and pulled it off for a while. No worries though, she put it back on as soon as we went inside. Stinker! :)

Rolling around in the grass with sister!
Lexi let me put the coat back on for a short time.
I loved this moment. Lilly was playing with her toys while Toby looked on. Poor little guy in his new red sweater. He is losing more hair these days, so the sweaters are quite the comfort for him in the colder weather. :)
Sweet smiley Lilly showing Mommy her new shirt!
This one is for my Dad...Lexi went and picked up the phone the other day. She kept saying, "Hello, Papa?? Hello, Papa??! Love you, Papa!" It was adorable!
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Prayer Requests

This weekend, 2 sad things happened. My neighbor's dog was tragically hit by a car Saturday night. My heart just breaks for them. I love animals and just hate when anything happens to them. I know that Tim and Riley are missing their sweet dog.

My little Toby also turns 14 years old this week. His age and health is always a concern of mine. I cuddled him and Sneezy a little closer yesterday and reminded them why they better not run out of the house EVER again.

There is also a family in the central Texas area who needs to be bathed in prayers. Their precious 3 month old little boy stopped breathing when he pulled his blanket over his face during a nap and he passed away in the hospital yesterday. Please pray for comfort for this hurting family. I cannot imagine something like that happening and ache for them. Lilly and Lexi will probably tell you that I have hugged them a lot tighter this weekend. I just kept thanking God for every single day that I get to be their Mommy!!! For more info on the Fleener Family and to follow their story and pray for them, feel free to read their blog here....www.fleenerfamily.blogspot.com (just get some tissues first!)

On the home front, Eric has papers, tests, and tons of homework. Pray he finishes out the semester strong. I am so stinkin' proud of all of his hard work! The girls and I are playing hard. I have started to keep a list of new words the girls say every day. It is hard to keep up with them. They are so smart!! I drew a heart the other day and Lexi walked up to me and said, "heart!". I was so excited. This morning alone, they both said boots, cute, and coat for the first time. Lilly also said shoes for the first time. It's so much fun hanging out with them!

Dressing for Daddy

On Veteran's Day the girls wanted to dress up for Daddy and the other veterans. They wore the cutest patriotic rompers in their honor. :) Lexi is in the red and Lilly is in the blue.

I couldn't keep the pigtails in Lexi's hair. :)
