The sleeping twins!

It cracks me up to see which sleeping position the girls might be in when I come in their room in the morning. So far, they have spooned, snuggled up to each other, kicked each other in the head, etc...One of my favorites is when one is nursing the back of the other one's head in their sleep and the hair of the one being nursed is soaking wet with slobber! It's pretty funny!
It occurred to me today that I had pictures of a lot of these positions. Now not all of these pictures were taken while they were in there crib..some were just from naptime. I thought it would be fun to post the various ones I have seen...enjoy!!
This one directly below is Eric's favorite...he calls it, "Kung Fu Babies!"

Sleep well, sweet babies!!

Still sleeping...

Well the girls are still sleeping through the night really well. It started at 9 weeks. For the most part, they sleep at least 6 hours at first and then go back to sleep for 3 or 4 hours after a bottle. The last few nights have been 10 hours, 10 hours, 9 hours, and 9.5 hours without waking up. I hear them stirring, and occasionally check their breathing to make sure they are okay, but it's amazing what you will worry about as a mom. I called my pediatrician a few weeks ago when the girls slept that long for the first time.

She said that as long as they were not losing their appetite during the day and were still having at least 5-6 wet diapers a day that they were okay! Well, I guess they are okay then. We actually still feed them every 3 hours during the day, because they are extra hungry during the day now. We don't mind this at all and they seem to be happy, so I guess I have to be thankful. I just wasn't expecting THIS much sleeping through the night.

I try to keep them engaged all day and not sure sometimes what to do to keep them awake and happy. After a bottle, they will rest their eyes for a few minutes and then they wake up. We try and do lots of tummy time and I love to play with them. I am soooooooo exhausted by the end of the day. I show them rattles and teddy bears and we go on walks and go to the store. We sit them in our laps and talk to them and coo at them. Of course, they laugh and coo back. It's pretty awesome! They are holding their heads up and just growing sooooooo much. Sometimes I run out of ideas and they sleep for a few minutes. :) By 8 pm, they are fussy and grumpy, but as soon as we put on their pajamas, and turn the lights out, they crash. It's adorable.

Uncle Sam

I was surprised by my brother-in-law at the front door yesterday. He was back in town to finish up his affairs at Ft. Hood. He is now an Army Officer! YEA!! After months and months of training, he and Christie and the girls are settling in at Ft. Bliss in El Paso...hopefully for a while!! :)

So Uncle Sam got to hold Lilly (while Lexi slept) for a while. It was pretty funny to watch them...Lilly just laid in his lap and talked to him. It was like she was super interested in him and wanted to know all about him. I, of course, had to grab the camera. Here they are sitting on the couch getting to know one another.

My post back in the beginning of August has the rest of Sam's beautiful family in it, for those who may have missed that one.

1 year....90 to go!

I almost forgot to tell everyone that today is mine & Eric's FIRST wedding anniversary!!! It has been pretty crazy and awesome! And I mean crazy in a good way! We have had the normal newlywed issues...getting used to living with someone else, but have still loved every minute of it! Even getting pregnant 7 weeks in was a surprise, but has turned into one of the best adventures of both of our lives!!

So here's to at least 90 more happy loving years!!!!!

Loving diaper changes

The girls really like to get a clean diaper on. They usually laugh and smile while I change their diapers. Here is a video of Lexi from Saturday... just being happy!

And yes, there is no sound. We took these on our regular camera. I am taking ones with sound too though...those will come later!
