Baby Jesus

First I was handed a pink baby doll and informed that it was Baby Jesus. Lexi asked me to swaddle her so she could carry Jesus around and kiss "her".

Next Lilly joined in the fun and brought me her 2 My Little Pony toys. She asked me to swaddle them together cause they were Baby Jesus. I said, "Both of them?" She said, "Yeah, twins Mommy!"

So I swaddled all the Baby Jesus' up and the girls carried them around the house. First, they took the 3 Baby Jesus' for a "vacation to Beaumont"...ha ha ha!!

Next they took them on a ride on the dinosaur train! I think Baby Jesus, and the Baby Jesus twins had a nice time with the girls!

Style

These pictures make me laugh! The girls refused a nap today so they were a little emotional. However, they were really cute and wanted to wear all these crazy accessories. They picked them out themselves...

Lilly wearing both of the giant flower clips on her pigtails. And look at her feet...
From Mommy's necklace to her Volkswagen beetle slippers...that girl is stylin'!
Then Lexi shows up in this get-up...2 Easter purses, one giraffe, a necklace stuck in her pigtails, and a major strut in her step.

And on a slightly different note...Happy Anniversary to my sweetie! We celebrated 3 years last week!

Updates Everywhere

I figured I needed to update everyone on Lexi's seizure drama. We took Lexi in to see the specialist on Monday of this week. He said that her 2 episodes were definitely seizures. He looked at the EEG and said it showed some slightly questionable waves.

He has ordered a sedated MRI in two weeks. He thinks it is a mild form of childhood epilepsy which she will most likely grow out of, if she has not already. He thinks that the problem is at a cellular level too small to see on the MRI, and that would indicate that continued brain development will eliminate the problem.

We were given a prescription to stop seizures if she were to have any (which I now carry in my purse on a daily basis) and he also suggested that we begin administering an anti-seizure medicine. She would only need to be on thisuntil she has been seizure free for 2 years. He also believes we need to monitor Lilly since it is believed that this type of epilepsy has a genetic component. Her pediatrician agrees with this and is going to schedule Lilly for an EEG and consultation with the specialist as well.

So now Eric and I are praying to make the right decision about putting her on a drug for two years. I have talked to 2 doctors, several friends, and a couple of pharmacists. They all feel this drug is safe and has a low occurrence of side effects. It just bothers me as a mom and Eric as a dad. We HAVE to make the right decision for OUR child and it is a scary decision either way.

Honestly, this could be something worse. I am praising God that she doesn't have a much worse problem. If it had to be epilepsy, at least it is something minor that she can grow out of. I am also thankful that it won't affect her mind. She has such a beautiful little imagination and silly spirit. I am now, of course, worried about Lilly too, but I am choosing to trust God in the WHOLE situation right now, so I don't freak out!

The past two weeks have royally SUCKED!! Let me be honest. 2 weeks ago today, I kissed my sweet dog and tucked him into his bed, knowing that it would be the last time I tucked him in. It was a horrible night and next day! The following Tuesday night, I had awful nightmares while the rain came down and we had water coming in the house. Then we got the house all fixed up and found out my girls might have a neurological issue. I was so longing for the sad times to end.

Today, I got so many blessings! The new women's Bible study started up at church...Esther by Beth Moore!! Who doesn't learn from and LOVE Beth Moore studies!! I got to see so many of my beloved friends at church. I missed seeing some of their faces and really enjoyed catching up. When I went to pick up the girls, they were SO happy to see me. We had no food in the house, so we went to McDonald's for a quick lunch before going to the store. This usually spells disaster, but after eating apples, drinking milk, and getting My Little Pony's in their lunch, they were SUPER happy campers!!

We spent an ENTIRE hour in the store...having fun! The girls hugged, kissed each other on the foreheads, played with their ponies, and sang loudly for all to hear. They were the best they have ever been in public, which is actually saying something since they tend to be pretty good in public. I came home at 1 pm, feeling so full of hope and joy! I got to spend the entire day with my favorite people in the world after seeing friends and learning about the Bible...God knew exactly how to refresh my soul! It may sound silly to some, but I love how God knows exactly what I need. Today, Beth Moore talked about how God's presence can be seen in even the most mundane activities if we look. I had a blast going grocery shopping with my girls and God!!

So please be in prayer for our decisions, all the testing to be done, and for the girls to not have any more seizures EVER! Hope you are all having a great week too!
