World Series

This morning the girls got up super early. They were sitting in Eric's lap snuggling when I said, "Girls, guess what? The Texas Rangers are going to the World Series! Isn't that exciting?!"

Lexi says with all kinds of excitement, " Yeah, and we're going to Walmart!!!"

Ha ha ha! Funny kid!

Introducing Emma...

We have a new family member, Miss Emma Rose Sanford! She is a beautiful and sweet dog. So far she gets along great with everyone. She is snoring next to me as I type this. I suddenly feel a tiny bit overwhelmed because it is like I have 3 toddlers running around the house.

She is around 1 year old, and was dumped at the shelter by someone who didn't care for her. She had her first vet appointment today and did great. She is about 32 pounds and seems healthy. We are planning to do some basic obedience training with her. I need her to at least obey general commands and can't wait until she starts responding to her name.

Right now, she is just a love!

Great Day

Today was our church's fall festival, aka, the parking lot party. It was a lot of fun! We had amazing food, face painting, a cake walk, bouncy houses, and fishing (for candy!). The girls had a blast which led to a meltdown when we left. :)

These girls were SO ready to go this morning. They got to wear play clothes instead of dressier clothes. I wasn't about to limit their playing abilities with a girly dress today.
Our current addiction...play/bouncy houses!
Lexi got a heart to match her sister!
Fishing...they both got M&M's and Swedish Fish. I hid them in the cookie jar and hope they forget about them for a while.
Lilly asked for the heart first...
Here is Lexi, during her "it's time to go" meltdown...I told her I was going to take her picture, so she better stop crying. She yelled, "No, Mommy!" and this was what I got....
Also during church this morning, the girls went into the service with us. They were peering into the sanctuary after Bible study on Thursday, and asked if they could "sing to Jesus with us". Why would I say no to that one? :) Church started this morning and by the 3rd announcement, Lilly announced, "I'm done now, Momma!" But, for 2 year olds, they lasted a long time.

After we got home today, they played like various rooms around the house were the "sanctuary" and they were going to go sing "sanctuary songs". They call Chris Tomlin's "Our God" the sanctuary song. :) We couldn't be much prouder!! Well, we hope you all had a great weekend too!!

The Funniest Conversation

I had to write this down before I forgot anything. This was the conversation while we were just outside playing...

The girls were sitting next to the house on the sidewalk and I was sitting on the bench by our front window. Lilly had a couple of dead leaves in her hands and was tearing them apart and throwing the pieces. Lexi asked for some leaves and Lilly screamed and slapped her on the leg. Lexi didn't retaliate though, which is GREAT!

Lexi suddenly made a pouty face and laid down on the sidewalk. She whimpered and said, "I'm grumpy!" I asked her why and this is what she said...

"Well Lilly was playing with leaves and said 'no mine'. I asked her to give me some and she said 'no, mine'! So I said 'no mine', and she slapped me. Then I got grumpy cause she said 'no mine' and she said 'no mine'. So I didn't want to sit up. I laid down for a little bit, cause I'm grumpy. Now Lilly should kiss me and said say sorry!"

She turned to Lilly and said, "Lilly, can I have a kiss?" Lilly quickly embraced her and said sorry and gave her a kiss. They hugged tightly around the neck.

I about fell off the bench! I didn't even have to get up to separate them! I could really learn to enjoy that kind of conflict resolution. Doubt it will be the norm, but a girl can dream, right!!???!!
