Blackmail Post

Well something happened last night and I feel the need to write it all down in my blog. Because let's face it, I really hope this embarrasses the girls one day. This blog has become a family scrapbook for us. My father has been getting my blog printed into books for the girls to have when they get older and they are such amazing treasures to have for them.

So here we go...Warning, if you have a weak stomach or don't have kids yet, you may not want to read any further!

The last few weeks of sleeping here in the apartment have been crazy. My amazing 12-hours a night sleepers, now don't go to sleep until 9 or 10 at night. They were biting each other so much that Eric and I now have to sit in the bed with them in hopes that they will go to sleep and there will be no bites or hair pulls. At home, they won't nap but they go to sleep in minutes with no fighting or getting out of bed. It is the complete opposite here and it sucks much worse. I hope things settle back down and go back to normal when we get home.

So last night the girls were exhausted. We bathed them, let them run around like crazy, and waited until they were yawning and sleepy. We put them into bed and, after closing the door, we heard them get up to play. As long as we could hear them playing sweetly, and it didn't sound like they were being mean, we were going to do what we normally do and let them play for a while. We were going to give them 10-15 minutes and then scold them, and put them back in bed. This used to work beautifully, and after getting up once they used to go right to sleep.

So after about 10 minutes of hearing giggles last night, I hear Lexi say, "Mommy, I need a baby wipe! Can I get clean?"

Now, I KNOW what this means. She always asks for a baby wipe if she is dirty. I panicked as I walked to the bedroom door, since with these two, you never know what you will find. I opened the door and screamed, "ERIC, COME IN HERE NOWWWWWW!"

I see two little girls standing by the door, with poop all over their hands and fingers. I mean rubbed in good too!! Lilly looks at me and starts scrambling to shove little pieces of poop back into her diaper that she had all over the floor. We grabbed their wrists and immediately went to the bathroom. I didn't appear that they had it anywhere else. However, it took about 5 minutes each child, to SCRAPE it all off their fingers. It was really dried on and stuck under their fingernails.

After getting them cleaned up and back in bed, Eric sat in bed with them while I cleaned the carpet for 30 minutes. There were little pieces everywhere and they went to town drawing on the closet door. I was soooo completely freaked out! I am such a germiphobe and it freaked me out not being able to see where everything was in the carpet....why? Well, cause the carpet is tan with little black chunks of carpet, so it was so hard to see what I was looking for.

Anyways, the girls wouldn't go to sleep for more than an hour after this, so I was so exhausted beyond belief and really frustrated! I would now like to let my girls know how gross that was....

Lilly and Lexi,

My sweet little girls! Mommy and Daddy really love you! But when you are 16 and you read this, we want you to remember that you both were playing in Lilly's poop and that is was disgusting! You may not care right now at 2 years old, but when you get older, I hope this embarrasses you just a little bit, because it was gross and yet we still love you! Ha!

Oh Sarah, that's awful!! A friend of mine's little girl did that and they duct taped her diaper on for a few days afterwards. Oh the joys of motherhood!

Yeah we used to get away with making sure she had pants or shorts on over her diaper at all times. However, she can now take her shorts off. Oh well! It will be funny in a week or two. :)
