My 4 Year Olds

The kids are cracking me up this morning. And it's such a blessed change from the grumpies that have been here all week.

I am sitting here watching the girls dance and they are sooooo different. Identical twins? Not in personality, for sure. The girls turned 4 in June. Here are some fun Lilly and Lexi facts:

They want to wear dresses EVERY DAY, no matter what we are doing. And the more the dresses twirl, the better.

They tell Noah on a daily basis that he's "so cute they can't stand it". Then they fight over who gets to sit closer to him.

Speaking of fighting, they are crazy competitive about everything. They get it from Eric. :) We now have rules about who gets to sit in which dining room chair at each meal, who gets the the left car seat certain days of the week, who gets to stand on the taller step stool to brush their teeth, etc...

Their favorite pair of shoes are silver dress shoes.

They LOVE, LOVE headbands, tiaras, purses, and bows.

They wish they could be Fancy Nancy and use fancy words a LOT. The other day, Lexi thanked me for making her hair look exquisite.

Their favorite food in the whole world is mac-n-cheese, pb&j's and grilled cheese. What four year olds isn't? :)

Lilly adores french fries. Lexi does not. She'll eat a few with enough ketchup on them though.

Lexi likes Mexican food though and Lilly does not. They both have decided that pizza is gross with sauce on it. Little weirdos. We order cheese pizza without sauce.

Their favorite dancing song is Dynamite by Tao Cruz. Their favorite praise and worship song is 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman.

Lexi still likes pink and Lilly loves purple.

Lexi wants to be an astronaut when she grows up and Lilly wants to be Spidergirl. :P

Eric gives them hugs and kisses every morning before leaving for work and then for the next hour I try to convince them that 1) yes he did say goodbye and 2) you said bye back. Short term memory or just mad he left? Who knows.

They love Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets, and anything on PBS kids. I really have to limit their tv cause they like it a lot.

They love it when we read books to them. If we could pick one activity to do every day, it would be to read books. We read for hours each day.

Lilly calls Lexi "sist" which is short for sister. Lexi still calls Lilly pet names when she is angry. There is nothing funnier than a mad Lexi yelling "Lilly bugga bugga!!"

Some of their favorite books are Leapfrog Tag books, Fancy Nancy books, Skippyjohn Jones, Horton Hears a Who, Giraffe and a Half, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and anything to do with princesses.

Lexi is more of our serious thinker, usually. I have to put usually, because it seems they switch every few months. She is a nurturer and just precious and caring with everyone she meets. She has always been more willing to make friends first, but that is starting to change. Right now, she is getting scared of all sorts of things...spiders, monsters, the dark. She loves to dance and twirl and will wear skirts a lot more than her sister.

Lilly is still our sensitive, snuggle-bunny. She loves to sit beside you and hold you while sucking her thumb. She is trying to quit that habit but still does it often. She is super sweet and gentle. Some days she is content to lay on the couch and watch all the action and other days, she is loud and giggly and dancing all over the place. I think she is a little more self-conscious than Lexi.

They just started full-time preschool and are in different classes. It has already been interesting and fun to see how they are changing and blossoming just by being apart for 7 hours a day.

In any case, good or bad, we love our girls and can't imagine life without them. Thank you, God, for choosing us to raise and love these precious little girls! They are amazing and I just can't say that enough. :)

Happy birthday to my gorgeous 4 year olds! We love you!

Weight: Both are between 41-42 lbs
