This weekend

We have had such a busy and fun weekend so far. Saturday morning we got up early and, after loading up the girls, drove to my Dad & Debbie's house in Duncanville. We just hung out and visited and it was so nice! We also took lots of pictures! I bet that surprises some of you. :) :)

This was also the first time that we were able to have family photos taken of all 4 of us. I think they turned out pretty good. Thanks Dad!

Eric and I take a moment to pose!

Lexi napping...it's too much fun to visit grandparents!

Papa Epps and Lilly hanging out.

The girls really like their butterflies!

Nana Epps and us!

The four of us..finally!

Lexi laughing at Nana Epps

Holly got to come visit and meet the girls. Here she is with Lexi! Holly and her husband Mike stopped by to visit us at the hospital but couldn't meet the girls since they were still in the NICU.

And once again, the Sanford Family!! Established September 8, 2007, and happy and expanding ever since!!
This coming week, my best friend Amy is coming to visit. She is expecting her second in April and this will the first time she has met the babies. We are super excited about this. Just down the street from us a man has set up his annual pumpkin patch and we are hoping to take the girls on Thursday for some Halloween/Fall pictures. They have the cutest little "My first Halloween" outfits to wear, plus we are going to take their costumes as well.
Look for future posts with Lilly posing as a little chile pepper and Lexi posing as a little pea in the pod!!

We're 4 months old today!!

Mommy and Daddy can't believe it! We are 4 months old today!!! It seems like yesterday that they were talking to us in mommy's belly. Then they brought us home all tiny and all we have done is grow and learn and be happy little girls.

We now hold our heads up and laugh at lots of things. So far the things that crack us up are the ceiling fans, daddy's long stories, mommy's funny faces, and lots of tickles. Mommy took lots of 4 month old birthday pictures of us today. The four of us went outside around 6 pm and laid on a blanket under our tree watching the leaves blow in the wind. It's our new favorite thing to do. Here are a few of the pictures...aren't we adorable?!!

Lexi is in the white and Lilly is wearing purple...
Lexi is sssssoooooooooooooooo relaxed!!

Also, here are a few random pictures taken of us in the past couple weeks...someone take the camera away from our mommy!!

Lilly puts herself to sleep now if she is getting grumpy by sucking her thumb....

Here they are just chilling on the bed with daddy. Mommy had changed their diapers and Toby decided to sit next to Lexi and lick his paws.

The picture below is us hanging out after some tummy time on a blanket. Our hair is really not that red...it was just the lighting!!

First Day Home

I just got out my camera today for the first time in a long time. We just usually use Eric's since it is a lot nicer. I found this picture that I don't even remember taking. This was on Saturday when we had just gotten home with the girls for the first time. We got them changed, fed, and all wrapped up. They were 5 days old!

Oh Dear

My darling husband is super stressed with the election junk coming up...I totally agree with him and although I do not agree with everything John McCain does or thinks, I think he is the better candidate and I do like Sarah Palin a lot. So Eric is in the living room right now watching the vice-presidential debate and the tension in the room is crazy every time Biden opens his mouth. I personally think that Barack Obama is awful and pray that he does not win this election, but I fear that he might.

Eric has now decided to start a blog of his own for political reform purposes...you are super excited now, huh Dad??? :) Anyways, Eric has been politely debating his political science professor this semester and has won the man's respect. His professor said that not only is he impressed with Eric's ability to voice his opinions in class, but also his ability to state facts to back up his comments. Apparently the professor will be bringing Eric a Diet Coke on Monday to thank him for his participation.

He made a comment in class the other day that the professor did not think was true and Eric said that he would look it up and write a short "thing" on the facts that made what he said true...well as of tonight, Eric has a 10 page paper written pointing out the truth of what he said in class. I told him that this paper should go on his blog when he gets it up and running...I will let you all know the address for that when we set it up.

Sorry to talk politics...not my favorite subject, but obviously a VERY important topic these days!! Make sure you vote!!!

I am now off to put 2 little babies to bed. Nightey night all!

Cute Pictures!

I just love taking pictures of the girls and they are SO GORGEOUS! I don't have much time today to write an entry, but I can sure download some pictures!! Here they are...
This first picture is little Lexi lifting her head like a pro and showing off those baby blues!

Next we have Lilly with her bear blanket and below her is Lexi with hers...

This is Lexi all dressed up in one of her outfits off of craigslist. It also has a matching jacket with Winnie the Pooh on it.

Lilly and Lexi enjoying their boppy! (Lilly is first and then Lexi)

The girls on tummy time! They love their new Baby Einstein Octopus.

This one is funny...I tried this new duckie romper on Lilly and then we went into the living room to show daddy and she was suddenly really upset at this thing on her head! She has no idea how cute she was! :)

Little Bugs & More

The girls are now getting more and more interested in their toys. Right now, their favorite thing is the little bug on the top of their bouncers. They sit and talk to it. Then after a while, they will slap it around or fuss at it. They will frown at it and then kind of yell at it with a scowl of disappointment on their faces. And when one is being super loud, the other baby will get quiet and watch her sister yell at the bug. I finally got some of their antics on video this morning!

Eric and I are working on getting some of the awesome video footage we have taken onto the computer soon. We now have Lexi's first "out loud" laugh on video and lots of other little funny moments. One of my favorites was when the girls were 3 weeks old and Eric and I were warming up their bottles in the kitchen but they were so hungry and it was the first time that they really screamed and cried loudly. They were both crying soooo loud and it is great footage of just how tiny they were.

Here are a couple of pictures of the girls having fun in their bouncers...

This little one is Lexi looking curiously at her bug!

Lilly likes looking at herself in the mirror too!

Here are some more photos of them noticing new things and exploring their world....

We may end up with 2 marine biologists by the way the girls watch the fish on their swing! Daddy will definitely be taking his girls fishing!

Lilly was also checking out her sheets before she rolled herself over for the first time!! She also does the leg motions to try and crawl. She just doesn't go anywhere yet! :)
