Well, it's official...my girls LOVE shoes! I am pretty choosy about the shoes I buy them since it gets pretty expensive buying 2 pairs at once, all the time. Well, I have found some good deals on great shoes on craigslist, one of which is this pair of boots that Lilly is modeling...only 5 bucks and they look brand new.

It's Been A While
I realized today how long it's been since I blogged. I get on a "blogging" roll and then suddenly get extra busy while time flies. :) Plus these 2 little girls keep me on my toes. They never seem to run in the same direction, and RUN they do!
We have been talking and talking and talking, running and running and running, laughing, tickling, reading, spelling, drawing, teaching, and so many other things. Today we were outside in the swing and the girls showed me where their teeth, mouth, ears, eyes, feet, fingers, hair, and nose were on their bodies. They even knew where Mommy's toes were...I just love playing with them and seeing all the things they know.
I just adore Lexi's LOUD high-pitched screams of joy...except today, she was so excited to be at HEB that she kept screaming as we walked down the aisles. :) We need to work on our "outside" voices, I guess. Mommy tends to be a little loud, so we can work on it together. :) Lilly is just a delight as well. Her favorite thing the last few days is to say "Hi" and "Hey" really sweetly to us. She seems to be more cuddly every day too...if that is even possible.
Here are some fun pictures from our outside playtime this evening..which is code for, "We chase the girls around the yard for 15 minutes until we were exhausted, then carried them inside as they cried to stay out longer." Lexi is soooooo fascinated with the street and wants nothing more than to run into it...yikes!

Week Thus Far..
I just ABSOLUTELY LOVE being a mom! Who could not love this job?!!! Even on days like yesterday when I had 2 cranky little girls who were pushing each other, biting me, and doing everything I said not to while giving me "the eye", I wouldn't trade it for the world! I still missed them 5 minutes after putting them in their cribs and couldn't wait until I heard their little voices this morning so I could get them up and snuggle them close. :)
I have been packing away tons of baby clothes, and finally cleaned out their purple toy bucket that had been full of newborn clothes. I brought it into the living room and threw all their stuffed animals and blankets in it. Then I piled them in....I had my own basket of babies!! He he he!! We had a lot of fun throughout the afternoon. Lilly is in the overalls.
We also took a nice walk in the cool morning air on Tuesday. I put the girls in 2 adorable little jackets I got on craigslist. The problem is that they BOTH like the furry one. :) They pat it like a little dog and hug the furry part. It's hilarious! So here is Lilly after our walk....see Lexi behind her?
Wait for it...And Lexi tackles her Lilly!!! Boom, down she goes.
My little thug celebrating her successful coat theft...
I've also been working on another project...I am totally in love with "Baby Legs". They are basically leg warmers for babies and toddlers. But they are 8-10 dollars each and since I have twins, I just can't spend $20 a pop on cute stuff. Plus I want almost every pair they make. :)
So I made my own. I bought some cute over-the-knee socks for women at Wal-Mart. They cost $3. I cut off the footed part and voila!! I am still working on making them look professional, but Lilly likes them anyway.

Birthday Party Fun
Beer Bread
I found this recipe (and made it my own) the other day while making my pancakes and decided to make it up really quick...and I mean, QUICK! I think it took about 4 minutes from start 'til it went into the oven! :)
Beer Bread
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 teaspoons melted butter
1 teaspoons baking powder
1 can/bottle of beer (I had a bottle of Blue Moon in the fridge and it was delicious...you can kind of taste the citrus in the crust)
Mix it all together. Put it in a greased loaf pan. Bake it at 375 for 50-60 minutes. I tested mine after 50 minutes and it was done, but ovens do vary. :)
